CASE STUDY:
Issue:
Our client, a car dealership was having problems with employee theft from customer vehicles while they were being serviced.
Investigation:
We installed hidden cameras in a vehicle interior compartment, planted bait money and miscellaneous electronic items, then took the vehicle in for an oil change.
Within 15 seconds of entering the vehicle, a mechanic was caught on video stealing the cash.
The valet was caught as well, rifling through the glove box and the center consol, examining (bait) electronic items like the items previously stolen: digital cameras, CD’s, portable GPS, etc.
Disposition:
Both employees were immediately terminated. The theft problem ceased upon their departure.
